The project takes its name from The Void as a space of possibility. By carving openings through the existing mass, voids become generators of light, movement and connection, transforming the Antiguas Bodegas Vinival from an industrial relic into an open cultural landscape.
The proposal introduces a simple yet radical gesture: circular openings puncture the vaulted volume through the roof and all four façades. These voids draw natural light deep inside, establish new entrances from every direction, and redefine the building as porous and inviting. The once-closed shell becomes a luminous civic space in dialogue with its surroundings, where interior and exterior merge into a continuous public realm.
The landscape extends this idea outward. To the north, a regenerated wetland follows the existing water channel and echoes La Huerta’s agricultural rhythm. Meandering paths, native vegetation and informal gathering areas activate the site. The east hosts street sports and active uses, while a small cluster of artist residences to the west ensures life beyond event hours.
Inside, flexible layouts and movable partitions support exhibitions, performances, workshops and everyday use. The circular oculi soften the heavy vault with Mediterranean light, creating a living, adaptable architecture where culture, craft and community coexist.
